Board Member Role Descriptions

The Roles of our New Board Members

Rosemary Maloney:

The Vice President in the absence or disability of the President shall perform the duties and exercise the powers of the President and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President or the Board of Directors or by resolution of the members adopted at any Regular, Annual or Special Meeting.  A focus of the Vice President is to plan our programming, secure timely topics and subject matter experts to present, (Speakers).  The Vice President will work closely with the Director of Venues and the Treasure to plan our programming.

Martin Schneider:

The Treasurer shall have general charge of the funds of the Association.  He/she shall receive all monies and keep the accounts of the Association.  The Treasurer shall also deposit the funds as directed by the Board of Directors, pay bills in accordance with the rules of the Board of Directors or upon its order, and shall make written report in full at each meeting of either the Board of Directors or the Association.  After the report has been accepted by motion it shall be turned over to the Recording Secretary to be incorporated in the permanent records of the Association. The Treasurer will work closely with our Accounting firm to keep all our IRS status up to date and to provide monthly P/L reports to President.

Richard Klein:

Director of Sponsorship shall be responsible to source revenue dollars in the form of sponsorships in order to subsidize or fully sponsor our various events.  It will be the responsibility of this role to maintain our sponsorship collateral, update as necessary with the approval of the President and Treasurer and to work in order to launch and follow up on sponsorships on a timely basis.

Adeline Colon:

The Recording Secretary shall attend all meetings of the Board of Directors and all Regular, Annual and Special Meetings of members and shall act as clerk at each meeting recording all votes and the minutes of all proceedings in a book to be kept for that purpose.  He/she shall read the appropriate minutes as designated.  He/she shall keep in safe custody the seal of the Association and when authorized by the Board of Directors and in compliance with the Bylaws shall affix it to any instrument requiring a seal.  The Recording Secretary will need to send out the minutes of each Board Meeting no later than 5 business days follow end of meeting.

Kym M. Hoover:

The Corresponding Secretary and Marketing Analyst shall issue all Association meeting notices and write such official letters as the Officers and/or Board of Directors may designate, keep a record of all materials, (gavel, pennant, electronic data – sponsor’s logo, NYCBTA letterhead, Invoice template and other templates, etc.) and update and maintain record of mailing lists. As Marketing Analyst, this role will work closely with the Director of Communications and Technology to maintain our online presence.

Jane Pearsall:

Director of Venue Selection shall preside over the Site Selection Committee and shall be responsible for the selection of the meeting sites, and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.

Michael Burnett:

Director of  Membership shall be responsible for growing the chapter through membership.  The goal is to entice as many Direct/Travel Buyers to the chapter as members and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.

Kelly Ferrigno:

Director of Government Relations and Public Relations,  shall serve as the Association’s liaison to the GBTA Government Relations Department and shall promote the awareness of and enhance the image of the Association.  This position will work closely with the Marketing team and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.

Frank Gallo:

Director of Technology & Communications shall have primary responsibility for the Association web site and be the primary liaison between the Association and the web-hosting service provider.  This position will also be responsible for our Social Media Presence.   In addition, the Vice President, Technology shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.
