Vaccination Proof for Indoor Activities (Key to NYC)

As of August 17, people 12 and older are required to show proof they have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized for emergency use by the FDA or WHO for:

  • Indoor dining
    • Includes restaurants, catering halls, event spaces, hotel banquet rooms, bars, nightclubs, cafeterias, grocery stores with indoor dining, coffee shops and fast food or quick service with indoor dining

  • Indoor fitness
    • Includes gyms, fitness centers, fitness classes, pools, indoor studios and dance studios

  • Indoor entertainment
    • Includes movie theaters, music and concert venues, museums, aquariums and zoos, professional sports arenas, indoor stadiums, convention centers, exhibition halls, performing arts theaters, bowling alleys, arcades, pool and billiard halls, recreational game centers, adult entertainment and indoor play areas

This new requirement — called the Key to NYC — also means staff at these locations must be vaccinated.

Note: People who have proof they received an active COVID-19 vaccine during a U.S.-based clinical trial will also be permitted at the above activities.

Proof of Vaccination

For proof of vaccination, you can use:

  • CDC Vaccination Card. A photo or photocopy of this card is also acceptable.

  • NYC Vaccination Record or other official immunization record from within or outside the U.S., including from your health care provider. A photo or photocopy of this card is also acceptable. If you are unable to get this record, call 311.

  • NYC COVID Safe AppAndroid | iOS. You can upload to this app a photo of your CDC vaccination card or other official record, along with your photo ID.

  • Excelsior Pass (or Excelsior Pass Plus). To use this app, you will need the phone number or email address associated with your NYC vaccination record. If you are unable to use this app, try one of the other options listed above.

Congressional Call to Action – ACT NOW to Support Travel

Aug. 7, 2020

Congress and the Administration are again at loggerheads on how to address the Coronavirus epidemic. The Cares Act we helped to pass in May was about stabilizing the travel industry. This time we need Congress to continue the financial support but we also need legislation that illustrates to the corporations, the travel ecosystem and the business traveler that travel is opening safely and smartly.

GBTA has been communicating for months with Congress and the Administration on how to best support the travel industry and restore confidence in business travel. We recently sent this letter to Congress. We need you to amplify the message.  Click here to help to Restore Travel - https://p2a.co/brxO6BM

Weekly Updates: REAL ID Status

Aug. 31, 2018

REAL ID: Status of compliance concerns have been raised for travelers in the states marked Yellow on this map of the United States. According to the site, October 2018 is the cutoff for state extensions. The concern is travelers from those states would be unable to use their driver’s license as ID when boarding a plane. DON’T BE CONCERNED, GBTA has received the following update from Department of Homeland Security. “Driver’s license enforcement will not begin until October 1, 2020 barring any unforeseen events.  The 2018 extension deadline is mostly a procedural issue with the states at this point - given the fact that we have instituted quarterly reviews.”
